ThompsonBaker Agency has been serving the St. Augustine community for nearly a century.

Matt Baker
President and Chief Executive Officer
Matt joined ThompsonBaker in 1998 and is the second generation of his family in the insurance agency business. He began in the firm’s Personal Lines department and moved into the Commercial Lines department in 2000. He became Partner in the firm in 2002 and assumed the role of President in 2009. In addition to leading ThompsonBaker, he continues to work with major Commercial clients in the areas of Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare, Trade Contracting, and Public Entities. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the Citadel and holds a 2-20 Property and Casualty license from the State of Florida. Additionally, he has earned the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS). Matt is very active in the community, having served on numerous local boards including Rotary Club of St. Augustine (past President), Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine Historical Society, Ameris Bank Community Board, St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, and City of St. Augustine Planning and Zoning Board (past Chairman). Currently he has been named Chairman of the Flagler Hospital Board of Trustees. He resides in St. Augustine Beach with his wife and two children.
Greg Baker
Chairman
Greg joined the Agency in 1970 and worked both as an insurance agent and a Realtor with Thompson Bailey. He sold both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines insurance and specialized in hospitality risk including motels, restaurants, and tourist attractions. He became a partner in both the real estate company and the insurance agency in 1976. He became President in1980 (through 2009) and is currently Chairman of the Agency. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance from Florida State University and holds a Masters of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University. He holds a 2-20 Property and Casualty license from the State of Florida. Additionally, he has earned the designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CHfC). Greg is and has been an active part of the St. Augustine Community having served as Mayor of St. Augustine, Chairman of the Flagler Hospital Board, President St. Augustine/St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce , Chairman of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents, and is an active member of the St. Augustine Kiwanis Club. He is a recipient of the Mitchell Stallings Life achievement award in the Florida Insurance Industry and most recently he has served as Chairman of the FAIA Good Works Fund; a Philanthropic Foundation supporting Insurance education through Florida State Colleges. Greg resides in downtown St. Augustine with his wife and two Australian Shepherds. He has two adult children and five wonderful grandchildren.
Dan Alexander
Vice President
Dan joined ThompsonBaker in 1991 as a Commercial Lines Account Executive. He became Partner in the firm in 2002 and continues to work with major Commercial clients with a focus on Association Business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Jacksonville University and holds a 2-20 Property and Casualty and Life, Health, and Annuities insurance licenses from the State of Florida. Additionally, he has earned the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Dan is very active in the community having served on a variety of local boards. He is very active in the Boy Scouts of America, Rotary Club of St. Augustine, St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce (past Chairman), and FAIA Legislative Council (past Chairman). He resides in St. Augustine Beach with his wife and 3 children.
Alan Bratic, CFP®
Manager, Financial Services
Alan joined ThompsonBaker in 2000 as a Financial Advisor and Manager of the Financial Services department. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics from Flagler College and obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification from Florida State University. Alan is President of the Flagler College Boosters, past President of the St. Augustine Kiwanis and has been honored with Million Dollar Roundtable membership. He is a 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 recipient of the Best of St. Augustine* for Best Financial Planner. Alan resides in St. Augustine with his wife and 3 children. *Best of St. Augustine per readers of the St. Augustine Record. Tami Devore
Director of Finance
Tami joined ThompsonBaker in 2020 as the Director of Finance and Human Resources, bringing with her extensive administrative experience having served in leadership roles in the banking industry, office management and behavioral healthcare. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, an Associate’s degree in Accounting and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). Tami enjoys volunteering in the community and has been a long time participant in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Tami resides in St. Augustine, has three children and one grandson.
